Two teams, two clocks

Bohemia said the live game stays in development: parity, optimization, content after Badlands. A sequel is not an euthanasia notice.
The line
A dedicated team remains on original DayZ. Feature parity between PC and console, performance, and post-Badlands content were the public pillars. That is the opposite of 'everyone moved to the sequel, servers go dark in 18 months.'
What that means for tonight
Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal, then Nasdara. Mods, servers, your stash. Play it. The sequel is a second flagship, not a delete key. Kane would still die on the coast for a can of peaches.
Watch the patch cadence
If 1.x updates stay real after Badlands, the promise is holding. If the live game goes quiet for a year, then worry. Until then, two clocks.
