Bohemia Interactive confirmed DayZ 2 at DayZ Unite in Prague (June 2026). Enfusion. Original DayZ keeps going. No date, no map, no platforms yet.
The short version
DayZ 2 is a real second game, not a rumor and not a rebrand of Badlands. Bohemia called it a second flagship IP and a true sequel that should keep DayZ’s identity. That is almost everything they locked in public. Treat anything else — map, loot tables, release year, console SKUs — as hope until they say it twice.
What sits next to it
The live game is not frozen. A dedicated team stays on original DayZ: console/PC parity, performance, and content after Badlands. Nasdara (DayZ Badlands) is still the 2026 expansion for the game you can play tonight. DayZ 2 is the long road. Both can be true.
