Fresh Spawn Priorities
Short answer
Stabilize water, food, cutting ability, wound treatment and temperature before chasing high-tier gear.

What to do
Identify the map and rough spawn area. Find a cutting tool or a route to improvise one. Secure safe water and food. Keep a safe wound-treatment option. Move away from exhausted spawn-area loot once stable.
How it works
The opening game is a resource-stability problem. A rifle with no food, water or safe bandaging does not solve the things most likely to kill a fresh spawn.
Don't
Sprinting everywhere while starving. Carrying every weapon part. Staying in a depleted spawn town too long.
