Bloody Hands
Short answer
After butchering with bare hands, wash them before eating or drinking. Gloves prevent bare hands becoming bloody while worn.

What to do
Check your hands after butchering. Wash bloody hands before consuming food or water. Use gloves for future butchering when available.
How it works
Eating or drinking with bloody hands can transmit food-borne illness. This is one of the most common early-game mistakes because the food itself may be perfectly cooked.
Don't
Cooking the meat but forgetting the hands. Assuming gloves clean blood that was already on bare hands before the gloves were equipped.
