State of Decay · SoD 3 systems
Plague nests
Hearts grew a dungeon
Short answer
Dynamic enemy hubs evolved from SoD 2 plague hearts. Different behaviors, growth, reactions. Best loot, high risk. They advance even if you ignore them.
The upgrade
Patzelt hyped plague nests as dynamic hubs you go in and destroy — personas, growth patterns, reactions to what you did. Consequences pillar: the world gets worse if you farm endlessly and never push.
SoD 2 homework
You already know heart radio scream, plague ferals, and 'we should have brought more fire.' Nests sound like that encounter with a floorplan. Clear with a plan, not a curiosity walk.
Loot bait
They said the best scavenging sits on the worst risk. That is classic SoD. If Kane wants the shiny crate, Levi brings the plague cure and an exit.
