Making a Fire
Short answer
A fire needs valid kindling/fuel, ignition and placement. It gives heat and cooking but also broadcasts your position.

What to do
Gather kindling and fuel. Create/place a fireplace in a valid spot. Ignite with matches, lighter or another verified ignition method. Add fuel as needed. Extinguish or leave once the job is done.
How it works
Fire is a survival tool and a PvP signal. The best fire is the one that solves the problem without keeping you exposed longer than necessary.
